Hard Yakka is running a "Give Dad A Break" promotion for Father's Day (www.yakka.com.au/fathersday). The competition began on Monday August 7, 2006 and will close on Monday September 4, 2006. After one week of the promotion, www.yakka.com.au had risen to be the 501st most popular website in Australia (the 256th most popular Australian site), a gain of 43,497 positions. Among Fashion websites it had risen to be the 2nd most popular in Australia, a gain of 179 positions.
Hard Yakka has been able to increase its marketshare by over 240 times since August 5 (based upon when the site peaked in the Fashion vertical at 21.36% marketshare on the August 8) by running a paid to surf campaign through EmailCash Australia as well as conjointly running an email promotion based upon EmailCash's email subscription list.
Hitwise Australia Clickstream data reveal that EmailCash Australia was the #1 referring site for Hard Yakka for the week ending August 12 with over 34% of upstream market share; followed by Hotmail with 19% of upstream traffic.
The second step of the competition, for those who are not instant winners, is to shop for Hard Yakka workwear and footwear at Kmart and then, with a valid receipt number, enter the draw to win. The page includes a link to find your nearest Kmart store (one of Yakka's many stockists) and this has resulted in well over 4% of users visiting www.kmart.com.au after www.yakka.com in the hopes that they will be able to "Give Dad a Break".
